Last night, I had a little birdie tell me that Jake Knott is a future NFL player. This person knows football too. Said to put it in the bank.

Hopefully his career turns out that way. Jake was awfully impressive yesterday.

Knott and Klein bring more quickness to the linebacking core. I couldn't tell yesterday, were they running a 4-3?

They dropped to a three man front at times. They also ran a traditional Nickel package with 2 line backers. In the Nickel package, it looked like they had knott and klein as the 2 backers.

Thanks, I got there early and sat on thr front row and could not tell. They definately looked faster on the edges (sideline to sideline) than they did anytime last season.

I have a hard time believing Klein isn't going to be just as good. Both have the size, speed and brains to be studs. Watching their HS film, I couldn't understand why they didn't have more offers?

I, too saw him make a bunch of tackles yesterday. He has a great opportunity, and is coming into Wallys system at a great time in his career

Yep, they were mostly in the Nickel with Benton.

Who said it?

I don't think this is some sort of privileged info and I don't think that someone would get mad if you said, "X thinks Knott will play in the NFL."

Big whoop.

Me likey. If we cannot get the pressure with four I wouldn't mind seeing a little 3 man front. I don't want it a lot, but at times it could be useful, especially if we have the linebackers/hybrids to do it effectively. The problem I see is we do not have the space eater in the middle of that front. Having that guy is key.

He'd have already told us if he wanted to reveal it.

Anyway, I'm excited to see him on the field.

I thought that Knott and Klein both showed great closing speed on the edges. I feel like that's something we've been lacking for a while.

I second this motion. Help me understand, Chris, what is so "confidental" about your source that said Knott is NFL material? This is mind-boggling...
