Hamilton's dad on Greg

So, another Prima Dona has his daddy stand up and tell it like it is. I am a little skeptical here about this crap. Remember when Ham came here he was nothing. The Big 12 was wondering why in the hell Mac recruited him. He played two years and was developed into something and now he takes his ball and wants to be "closer to home." Then his daddy has to come on here and voice his opinion. I wish Ham's next coach luck as I think he will have one big cry baby on his hands. "My coach is mean to me so my daddy is going to bad mouth him after I decide to run home with my tail between my legs." To both dad and kid... grow up and get a backbone.

Another Prima Dona? So what, are we recruiting like 3 or 4 of those a year?

As far as Colvin is concerned he is lucky he is even still in school. Most coaches would have not given him a second chance to be on the team. They would have kicked him to the curb like the spoiled brat that he is.

As for another winner... I see that Wesley Johnson has gone NBA. That is one year at Syracuse after he ran away from ISU. Has anyone thought that he may have not wanted to be overshadowed by Brackins? I hope he is successful in the NBA. I think he lacks the stomach to take the beating that goes on night after night in the league. Good luck, Wesley... because the coaches in the NBA won't give damn what you think.

Haha, didn't want to be overshadowed by Brackins? Really? WJ is going to be a lottery pick, CB is going to be a second rounder. WJ left us to play for a top 5 team, why would you do that if you were worried you would be in someone's shadow? Wow.

I am just tired about the Internet lynching that is going on here. I agree Mac is not the best coach in the league and ISU leaves a lot to be desired in money and facilities. But, I will lay odds that any new coach that ISU brings in will be lynched on this board before his first season is over.

We can become like Kentucky and Kansas. Rent players for a year and pretend that they are actually student athletes. Or, we can have some respect for ISU and recruit players that actually want to be here and get an education. If Mac stays or goes is not the problem. What ISU willing to give up to win is the question.

Ah yes, thats right, we are doing it the right way, and everybody else is dirty cheaters. You can argue about what college bbal has become versus what you think it should be, but at the end of the day it is what it is. And at the end of the day, you play to win the game. If we aren't willing to play and compete, then we should just pack it up and go home. I don't think most of us on this site spend all this time following ISU sports to hope we go out there and lose the right way. Even with Greg "The Right Way" McD, our players aren't graution and our academic scores are among the worst around. Frankly, if we are going to suck that hard in the classroom, we might as well win. Of course some people would rather have a good ole Iowa boy at the helm and suck at both I guess.

Nice to hear from you kg. I find it interesting that the people that were against this info coming out are the ones that believe that McD can do no wrong. Obviously, if they are insiders they know how bad the program yet they come on here whistling sunshine and lollipops all day long.

What else is ironic is that what this Summit guy predicted is exactly what happened. Yet another mass exodus of players. Great job coach. Not only can you not coach the games, you miss on most of your recruits AND the ones that do show promise you run out of the program. Keep up the great work!

Sometimes a disgruntled grouip of people can talk themselves into moving en masse. Maybe, that has happened here. Quite a few people are now leeaving the Hawks men's team also. Like rats getting off a sinking ship.

I've already been in one big time riot in Ames.
And it was AWESOME
I can be there by morning if I leave now...
whoa there killer. let's make it saturday, so they don't cancel the rest of veishea... I'm considerate.

This is epic.

I've never seen so many grown men envious of a 16 year old kid in my life.

The ego-stroking in this thread is creating quite the gooey mess.

I was already pretty jealous of Justin Beiber. Now I have a reason to hate an entire generation..
Look I am growing up to be like a 35 year old!!!!!!!!!!!

Maturity is what the 'adults' are saying in here about drinking and rioting.....
or the 16 year old pointing out that a poster who has acknowledged such that he broke a code of conduct to let out information third hand.

Yep, 16 year olds sure are immature(this coming from a 32 year old.)

Man, I don't know what I would do with my life if it wasn't for your amazing advice...I'd probably turn into a 35 year that has a little more respect for himself.

You'd probably let you panties get in wad because somebody leaked some "inside" info from your little private social club. Oh, wait...

and for the record. I don't envy Cyismydog. Just appreciate his input.
But back to making fun of people...
Has anybody seen that Kristy Alley?

I love the "prima donna" argument. Considering we have finished in the bottom 3 of the Big 12 for the past 4 years, we sure do seem to have alot of prima donnas. I would have figured that distinction was mostly for high talent, high profile guys...

I think its pretty clear cut and dried that a typical 35 year old has way more experience and tact than a typical 16 year old. The cool reality of this is that when you, yourself become older you will have the experience and look back and agree. It's just a matter of time. Trust me.

With this being said I think you do a really good job of what you do and should be commended for it.

Exactly. CIMD seems to be pretty mature for a 16 year old, and I've never thought anything bad of him.

That said, it just strikes me as very odd that someone would be sharing sensitive, inside information about ISU basketball with a teenager. Obviously, he seems to have handled it pretty well as far as I can tell, but can you really imagine someone saying "Yeah, Let's tell all our program secrets to this teenage kid!" It seems to me like if there is program information that is supposed to be kept secret from the public at large, it would be wise to try and defend it from networking (or social engineering) when possible. In other words, if a 16 year old kid (however mature or talented) can get in on this kind of info, it seems like just about anyone could.

Also, I don't understand why so many people on this board think they have the absolute right to know everything about everything that happens in the basketball program. If this was supposed to be a private exchange between friends (I have no idea if it was) then I could understand why someone would be upset that it's getting out to the public at large. Sometimes, yeah you need whistle blowers. Other times, there's no point in creating this kind of mess.
