Hamilton's dad on Greg

what exactly is the great inside info that we get from KG and CIMD? that greg mcdermott is the best coach ever? cause we get that kind of statement. or how about the inside info that the program is in good shape?

The only relevant info they provide is who we are going after as far as recruits and you can usually find most of the stuff on recruiting websites.

Which begs the question as to why people with "inside information" on the ISU MBB program (presumably from within the AD) are networking with a 16-year old in the first place. Holy bad judgment Batman...

No kidding!! Great post!!

Per google it should be uncle
tom.gif

that is the correct spelling of tom( i don't know this to be true) but you really do have some quick wit...

that is correct. i'm glad we could bring some humor to this thread. jebus nuclear. probably take down the server again, eh?

I wouldn't have minded if he shared it in public. However, what you refer to as the "Good Ol' Boys Club" had a specific agreement that needed to be met to let into it in the first place. This trust specifically was violated.

I know that there is an agreement to keep that stuff private w/in the MBB Social Group, but I guess I'd like to see proof that there was no permission between SC and Larry off the record. It's one thing to just take info out of an invite only social group, and post w/out permission, and it's another to get that info straight from the horse's mouth. It's possible that they discussed it via a means that the rest of you weren't able to view.

You know that the administration is retaining the current coach, so why would you post this during a critical recruiting period?

No matter how much you may disagree with the current state of the program what are you trying to accomplish?

Is your goal to undermine the program, so it is even harder to rebuild?

The only thing I ever read is "if you only knew" or "you have no idea". Top notch insider info.

Why are people going going crazy over something that anyone with basic math skills can put together? Loss of players (routine) + loss of assistants (recent) = Greg is not doing a good job. How greg sucks really doesn't matter, we all know he hasn't been doing a very good job.

Basically this outrage from insiders is due to them realizing that us fans (AKA nobodys) are not as much in the dark as they'd like.

And to answer CIMDs question, yes, at times I think CW is nothing more than a propagandist. He was talking rainbows and roses all bball season. Well, that surely was not the case.

Some of you are a joke. Does it make you feel better to turn this whole thread on the guy that's trying to defend himself? He was wrongly betrayed and has the right to stand up for himself. It's laughable that so many of you are jealous of CIMD for his knowledge. If it wasn't for guys like him, CW and KG, all of you would be in the dark with the mens bball program.

Sorry, but this sentence just made me laugh out loud. What enlightening info is kg telling all of us? That every year our program is on the right track even though we continue to finish below 0.500? That our coach has to deal with more things off the court than most coaches do (never mind the fact that it is McDs decisions that created these problems)? Or is it his great recruit info that makes it seem like everyone that McD is bringing in will be All-Big 12? Come on ZJ, you seem like a normal guy in person, but in this thread you seem like you've gone a bit crazy.

I can only think of one reason...stupid

What a crock. Many know, most don't need to use that knowledge to feed their hunger for power. Silly games........all of it.

That is the problem around here, is that people have no humor. You make a funny joke and all of a sudden people are reporting you for "rude comments"
People take this stuff way to seriously...

also did you hear that Justin Hamilton transfered?

In fairness, that does confirm that his son is a ***** with no mental toughness. No way Justin could play for somebody like Frank Martin. He'd cry within the first 10 minutes of practice.

This is what I would think, if it hadn't happened 15 or so times in 4 years. Maybe it is the coaches fault. I don't see how these kids don't realize more about the coach in their recruiting and visit process. As for the coach being to tough on him, its all a matter of respect. My favorite coach ever was the biggest **** i've ever seen when it came to sports. However, he got the best out of me and was so happy when I graduated all he put me through. Still great friends with him today. There is a fine line between being tough and a players coach, needs to find it and connect with the players.

Did you all have to double dog dare --- or did you all just jump right to the triple???

That isn't what I got from that post at all. I got the impression that the problem was he wasn't consistant from day to day or player to player, not that he was a hard *** in general. And that is where the problem came from. Don't believe it, take a look at the puzzling handling of the Dendy and Colvin suspensions this season. Enough said.

If there is a head coach at any power conference school in the country that doesn't get in your face and cut loose in practice, I would be shocked. That isn't the problem here. If Justin was the lone player leaving, I could buy the explanation that he is just a wuss and can't take it, but give GMac's player retention record here the last 4 years that certainly isn't the conclusion I would come to given this new information.

Not really...you can't keep the W/L record in the dark. You can't keep the recruiting failures (HB) in the dark. You can't keep the transfers (WJ, JH, etal) in the dark. It is what it is. Frankly, this sort of tidbit does nothing but confirm suspicions that a lot of people have.

Shouldn't you be more worried about the fact that our basketball program is so weak right now that a single post on a random message board can undermine it?

Once again, what the heck does my age have to do with it?

Alot. Young people often lack the experience and tact to deal with certain information. There's a reason why you can't become president of the US until you are 35.

But then again, I don't know you from Adam. For all I know, you could be a 35-year old posing as a 16-year old.
