Official Missouri Post Game Thread

Mizzou looked nothing like a tournament team. Any other Big 12 team wins in Columbia tonight and most win by double digits.

We need to slaughter and burn a sacrificial pig or a cow in Hilton, and then maybe we can get few breaks to go our way. That game was a dry ****.

We lost to Northwestern right??? Iowa is winning by 13 starting the second half. Who is better at this point in the season? Yeah.. I know we beat them. Just comparing.

I dont lately, Iowa is better i think...nobody cares that we beat some of the worst teams in the country, we havnt beat anyone to even mention....its embarassing we have no feel good wins in four years, I would rather have lickliter as a coach anyday over mcdermott

This team catches ZERO breaks. I mean we missed a layup to take the lead.

That is true, we don't catch any breaks. But there is truth in the line that you make your own luck.

We get one of the lowest percentages of loose balls that I've ever seen. Some of that is bad luck, some of that is bad effort.

and we missed more than one layup to take the lead.

dude seriously bellzisu, who gives a **** about how iowa is doing, last time i checked they are awful in the big ten, we have other problems besides caring about what iowa is doing so who gives a ****

I will count this game as a win since Coach Mac has lost more Big 12 games by more than 15 points than he has won.

We beat that... so Im good.

Im done defending Mac, i will still support him and the team but im done making excuses for him. Lets just hope we can string together some of the elite talent in and around iowa or were screwed.

Yes, I'll say it...Coach Mac needs to go. The flaws in the team are systemic: lack of team passing (drive and dish), lack of team defense/giving up the baseline or lane and having NO ONE step in, playing a finesse-type game in a physical league and expecting every call to go our way, having no strength, having no mental toughness, having no desire to take every game and use it to step on the throat of the other team...PHEW.

Sure, our players' basketball IQ is generally terrible, especially DG, SC, and MG. MG is a great athlete, but the number of times he gets out-of-control and tries to take the ball into a crowd is unacceptable. DG can't make a lay-up, waits on the dribble until the double team comes AND traps him, holds the ball out by half-court and gets trapped, telegraphs passes...SC puts forth some effort, but in general, no one on our team knows how to stop the fast-break.

There are so many more things we could say (and have). I am sick and tired of being frustrated. We need a fresh breath of air in our program. We SHOULD have beaten UNI, Northwestern, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Texas, K-State, and Missouri. That takes us from 13-11 (2-7) to 20-4 (7-2). HUGE difference. We were in all of those games. We lost most of them by 5-7 points or less. And, we did that while playing POOR basketball; no drive, little control of the ball on the dribble, lack of execution on lay-ups and dunks, etc. Think about how close we've been to greatness this year; a killer instinct and we COULD have done it. I'm done settling with COULD have. It is simply unacceptable; coaching AND playing...but when the playing is bad, and there is bad execution, that makes you wonder what the coaches are teaching, and how practices are run.

I love your heart scotty, but you need to take it easy im sorry i said it, but id rather have colvin start, because quite frankly you arent productive and i understand its your mono and love your desire to play, but you need to get healthy

We should have won this game, I don't care that we were 11.5 dogs. Mizzou played their worst game of the year and we played DOWN to their level. We had tons of opportunities to control the game but our guys have serious mental problems. Need a winners mentality and the guys have a losers mentality. Like what Craig said after the Nebraska game, "We normally lose this game." Is that seriously how our guys think? By the looks of tonight I say it is, not good.

Lets think of the positives:
The game was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
The players are still trying hard. A lot of people would have packed up the tent by now.
Ham just keeps getting better.

If Iowa hangs on, they will have more wins in conference than ISU. They are not a good team yet, but I do think they have improved a lot since the start of the season.

We've blown a lot of games this year that we easily could/should have won. NW, UNI, OU, Mizzou, Texas, etc.

It's a shame, really.
