According to Wikipedia, last year's Insight Bowl between Kansas and Minnesota was simulcast on the local Fox affiliate in Kansas City and shown for free on Comcast cable in the Twin Cities.

Since Mediacom doesn't carry NFL Network, maybe we can count on one of the local stations in DSM to simulcast the game?

Go to a bar or a friends house. This pisses me off when they do stuff like this. Not fair to the dish network/direct tv users who actually PAY for it.

Well, if this does happen, I could get lucky. I doubt Mason City would be able to get it, but I might get lucky with Albert Lea/Austin/Rochester stations maybe showing it.

Or FSNorth buys it and shows it.

But driving down to Ames for a bowl party sounds better.

Or you could just get a dish package and kill 2 birds with 1 stone by dropping MediaCrap.

Sure would be a lot easier for the people who can't do that--not to mention a lot cheaper for everybody--if a local TV station simulcast it.

For the record, I have DirecTV and NFL Network. I'm just looking out for my fellow Cyclone fans.

I agree. They did the same thing here in Chicago when the Bears were on the NFL Network. It ****** me off.

They allow a local broadcast in the home cities of NFL teams for the Thursday night games, I would like to think they'll do this for the bowl as well.

you guys should get ****** off for better reasons then that. i'd like as many people as possible to watch the game. i guess im just not as selfish as you guys though

The NFL has a rule that all games must be carried on free, over-the-air TV in the participating teams' markets (as long as the game is sold out). Monday night games on ESPN are subject to the same rule.

I do agree that the only people who are entitled to watch the ISU insight bowl game, are those people who have direct tv!!!!

btw i dont have direct tv so I will do what I always do when the game is not on tv....I'll listen to it on the radio!!!!!!

No I will never buy direct tv...shove where the sun never shines rite up murdocks ...well you know where to shove it....

That would be great. How can we find this out? Pollard?

I would imagine any local TV station that picks it up would announce it pretty quickly. WOI would be the first logical choice, but since WOI is rarely logical it could be anywhere.

Wrong. Dish Network gets it too!

Go to a friends, if you have one. If not, find a bar.

It would be nice if it was on local TV. I can go to a bar to watch it, but on New Years Eve it might be so noisy you couldn't here a thing.

If this happens what will constitue a local market? Do you think an eastern Iowa affiliate will pick it up?
