Went to the tailgate tonight in Council Bluffs. Jamie P. Cael S., and Gene C. spoke briefly. Cael got a standing ovation. Gene stated that the team will enjoy playing and play physical.

I couldn't make it today...but i just watched the video and i noticed that there was a mannequin of the throwback jersey that will be worn this fall. They look pretty cool in my opinion.

I actually drove by the tailgate as i was heading back from a job this afternoon but i realized that i was wearing a nebraska baseball shirt today. I only wear that shirt because i need bad shirts to get torn up at work. I still didn't think it would be appropriate to attend with that even though i had good reason...too many people would question my allegiance to the Cyclones.

Coach Gene is a class act.. Pollard is a winner.. just a matter of time before we are at the top in all sports

I listened to 590 yesterday afternoon. It was nice to hear Jamie and the coaches interviewed. I had to laugh when I realized that I was getting my ISU fix out of an Omaha station and not a Des Moines station.

I listen to 590 almost every day on my way home from work. Matt Peralt does an excellent job of covering the Big 12, especially Iowa State.

I try to listen as much as I can. The problem is that it doesn't always come in. Some days are better than others.
He does do a good job. I'd rather listen to that and Mo Valley stuff than all Hawkeye all the time.

I found it interesting that after Jamie Pollard was on Matt said that he could never do that with the Nebraska athletic department. He wasn't talking about the ISU tour. He was saying that he can't even get the Nebraska AD on the line for a phone interview. He said that they have made it clear that they want nothing to do with the local media.

It seemed that he was impressed with the set up and the access he had to JP and the rest of the coaches.

I have found that 590 AM does a much better job of covering the Big XII and Iowa State than the Des Moines media outlets and Matt Peralt is way easier to listen to than Marty and Miller- you can actually take his opinions seriously.
