Howdy Cyclones (An Aggie breaking down the Aggies)

Thanks for the info. I've been to all of the ISU games at A&M, and it's always been a great experience (especially the last time:smile:). The fans there are great, and the atmosphere at the stadium is also great. You also might be able to watch OSU beat UT Saturday while drinking very cheap beer at the Dixie Chicken Saturday night.

If we can't pressure your qb, we will have a repeat of the Kansas game.

I will say this, I was at A&M the last time we went down there. (and beat their tails in....) and I will say this without one bit of hesitation, their fans are the nicest bunch of people in the nation. Seriously, been to most of the Big 12 and the people in College Station were nothing but hospitable and friendly to us. They were so nice, we bought an A&M rally towel to support their athletic department. (but put it in our pockets during the game because we bleed cardinal and gold)

Be nice down there, I know the other fans will be.

If I had to pick another Big 12 team to root for, it would be Texas A&M...even though they have those yell leaders.

I don't understand what you are saying here.:jimlad:

really?

he's saying (and rightfully) that score comparisons are ridiculous and rarely have ANY merit.

IMO, although stats can be entertaining, the only stats that count are generated when A&M and ISU play the game.

don't believe it?

last saturday in lincoln is a perfect example.

We're leaving after work on thursday for college station, what bars should we hit up friday night after we get down there? we're staying at the ramada right by campus. Can't wait, I've heard from multiple multiple people that the fans there are a class act. As an ISU alum, I like that. We've had to deal with douchy hawkeye fans our whole life. Hope to have a great time!

Sorry, I'm posting from my phone, hopefully this works.

Places to go(saw this on another thread being asked about)

The best places are Layne's(wellbourne highway and right of Texas Ave. Two locations)

Double Daves (intersection of texas anbd george bush)

Freebirds (there are 5 of these, just drive around. The original is on Northgate just north, who would of figured that out, of campus)

Bars-I'm not a drinkin man myself, but I have been to a lot of em. Best is the Dixie Chicken, although they sell beer and that's about it.

Other Northgate bars aren't bad either.

Midnight yell-in Kyle Field, everyone is welcome, just don't be like tech fans and do chants and what not, we will welcome you there (most will, every school has bad apples) and it's a fun time.

Pregame-Stepoff is 1.5 hours before kick (1 pm this week) it's good stuff.

Tailgating is great here, just walk around and you will most likely be offered free food.

Enjoy the game and get to the stadium early, it's worth it.

And stay for half time, it's good stuff.

Thanks guys, hope this helps.

Gig em Ags!

Von Miller is who you are talking about. He wears #40, if ISU has 3rd and long, Von will be in the back field. Not saying he will have 20 sacks, but he is very disruptive. He is good, although so is Istate's line.

I wonder how he compares to Suh? That guy is a monster.

Suh is definitely a monster. He can stuff the run and break through on passing situations and get sacks. Von Miller is a pure speed pass rusher in the newly formed "jack" position. So far in 7 games, he has 31 tackles, 12 of which are sacks.

Why are all these ISUCF'V'MB members hating on the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band? Military style marching is not easy and they do it better than anyone.

The precision presents some difficulty... yes.

However, i would say that that is outweighed by the relative ease of the actual drill being marched. When you dont have complex and varying drill responsibilities from person to person, having clean, precise drill is much easier. Especially when you are changing up shows every week.

And trust me, i'm not just an ISUCF"V"MB fanboy.. ive said other bands had better performances than ISU's in past threads. Just not Texas A&M's

The way I see it, the Aggie Band marches a show not too different than our pregame show. I would say that their show is usually cleaner than our pregame. Also, they do change shows. They are just all very very similar.

I am currently a member of the ISUCF'V'MB, but I was raised as an Aggie. So I guess I will tend to defend most things Aggie.
