Talked to a friend today who has a source at the Iowa Energy. An assistant coach who does a little scouting. He saw Gilstrap recently and said he is the real deal. Said he is a VERY good player and Iowa State got a good one.

Watched Brackins and Gilstrap go one on one with a two dribble limit...Very entertaining.
Just a drill...
That would be kinda funny having a college BB team play 6 on 6 rules as a drill.
Actually that drill can be really intense, especially if you take away all dribbles. We used to do all kinds of drills like these when I was coaching. My favorite was 3 vs. 2 on each side of the court. Players had teammates past half court but couldn't cross the line. Hard to explain online but it helped reinforce our full court 1-2-1-1 press.
We did the two dribble limit for a majority of our offensive drills. Makes kids be explosive with the dribble and not screw around.
that's 2008 more like 11 days or somethingSaturday, November 08, 2008vs Nebraska Omaha (Exh.)12:30pm
17 days baby!
Yes it was.:yes:Saw a Cap City League game this summer with Gilstrap and Barnes guarding each other. Neither one could stop the other and they both probably had around 40. That was fun to watch!
The big thing with Gilstrap for me is can he defend Big 12 wings? I, too, think he will score well for us, but if he's giving up 20 a game to the guy he's guarding, it's all for naught.
