I'm seeing nothing out of Sed Johnson right now. Not sure what's up, because he has the physical tools. IMO, if he doesn't pick up his game this season, I could see him falling down the depth chart and into "bust" territory.
Not to be Debbie Downer, I have been very impressed w/Jake Williams. Good hands, good routes, and a lot of speed. I think him and Ham are clearly the best receivers on this team RIGHT NOW.

I dont think we have even tryed bombing it to Sed down the field for about 40 yards..maybe thats where his strength is
I agree Jake Williams has been a really good surprise. Hamilton has been very solid. I think Darks will get better week to week, he the only one of those three young guys that has proven himself on the field in college.
We are going to need to sign 4-5 WRs at LEAST if we plan on running a really successful spread offense. Good to see we already have one.

And for that matter, I don't think we have thrown a true deep ball all season, and we're getting single coverage on the corners quite a bit.
We've tried. Arnaud has overthrown it a couple times.
Additionally, when we've really tried the stretch the field, Arnaud has hit Sash in stride. :no:
We don't have a single WR on our team that can make the first man miss and get around him. Money has shown flashes of making people miss, but he never gets down field after that. We need someone who can do that... I think all 3 of those guys are capable of that... they just have yet to prove it. Step up.
I get the feeling that, in this offense, everyone needs to be on the same page for it to work effectively. By that I mean understanding it, and executing it. Darks may well not be 100% physically, and if he is, missing time certainly doesn't help the learning curve and timing. Reynolds seems to be doing fine, though I'm not sure where he went during this game. Perhaps Kent State was taking him away? Sed Johnson, I'm not sure. I'm not discounting any of them until Austin gets fully on track.
They are all three hurt that's why. Yeah they can play but the truth is they are hurt.
Bingo. And with Army as another game for them to recover and get back into sync, I certainly don't mind if that trio explodes all over the Big XII....
I wasn't able to see this game, but Iowa had two safeties deep over the top all game last week. I'm sure our opponents are watching that tape and doing similar things (I was not able to watch the Kent State game). If we are going to "take what the defense gives us," we'll likely have to throw underneath a lot and let our receivers make YAC. Of course, if we keep getting 100+ yards out of A-Rob, that should help pull safeties up and give us more opportunities to go deep.
Poor QB play is a big part of it too. While the three of them don't seem to be getting open, to be fair Arnaud is not hitting them in stride at all when he does actually throw one their way.
Jake's TD catch was a thing of beauty last night. :yes: It wasn't a bad toss from AA either.
You are right QB has to see more then one reciever....bad habit of throwing behind the reciever
We need to run more 10-20 yd routes. Also...more throws over the middle. I am sick of the 3yd out.

This year's team seems to be missing a Todd Blythe type who has both the hands and jumping ability to catch the jump balls. Arnaud is also looking for another Sumrall. Someone who catches everything thrown his way.
