Iowa State University has fielded a men’s basketball team dating back to the year 1908.

Only once, back in 1957, have the Cyclones defeated the No. 1 team in America. The great “Roland Rocket” Gary Thompson led Iowa State past a guy named Wilt Chamberlain and the Kansas Jayhawks by a 39-37 final.

Fresh off of Saturday’s relieving 13-point road victory over Kansas State, the Cyclones will likely have an opportunity to do it again, assuming that Oklahoma (15-1, 4-1) jumps to the top spot following Kansas’ midweek loss to West Virginia.

Vegas has chimed in too on tomorrow night’s 8 p.m. tip (ESPN). The experts in the desert have Iowa State favored by 2.5.
