According to the media the covers the Big 12, the forecast for the 2014 Iowa State football season is mostly cloudy. The league’s preseason poll that is voted on by the scribes was released on Thursday morning and the Cyclones landed ninth on the list, in front of only the Kansas Jayhawks.

Oklahoma, to the surprise of nobody, is the favorite to win the league. The Sooners gathered 47 first place votes. The 2013 champion, Baylor, was picked to finish second, accumulating nine first place votes along the way. Kansas State, Texas and Oklahoma State rounded out the top five.

The Big 12’s annual football media days will take place next Monday and Tuesday in Dallas. Of course, CycloneFanatic.com will be on hand for complete coverage of the event.
