Iowa State appears to be going the transfer route again.

Justin Edwards, a soon-to-be junior and former University of Maine guard, tweeted on Tuesday afternoon that he will be taking an official visit to Iowa State this weekend.

"First official visit this weekend to Iowa St, gunna see my bros @NazzyJLong and @M3llyM3I where the cyclone tweeps at?"

The gentlemen that Edwards referenced in the tweet are current Cyclones Naz Long (sophomore) and Melvin Ejim (senior). You see Edwards, who averaged 16.7 points for Maine as a sophomore, originally hails from Whitby, ON (Canada). Long and Ejim are both Canadians. All three hoopsters come from the CIA Bounce AAU program.

There’s the connection.

In addition to the 16.7 points, Edwards averaged 5.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.9 steals per game last season. Edwards averaged 13.9 points per game as a freshman.

Edwards is a 6-foot-3 shooting guard that will have two years of eligibility at the school that he decides to transfer to.

It’s worth noting that as of now, Iowa State does not have a scholarship available for the 2013-14 season. CLICK HERE to view Cyclone Fanatic’s scholarship chart.
