Iowa State has landed a commitment from three-star Altamont, Kan. quarterback Easton Dean following an unofficial visit to Ames for the Cyclones’ junior day on Saturday, a source confirmed to Cyclone Fanatic.

Dean, who is considered the No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in the country by 247, also holds offers from South Dakota and South Dakota State. He has also reportedly drawn interest from Kansas State.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound prospect in the class of 2019 threw for 2,028 yards, 22 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 60 percent of his passes as a junior last season. He also added 455 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on 97 carries.

Dean is the Cyclones’ fifth commit in the 2019 recruiting cycle, joining three wide receivers and an offensive lineman. Iowa State’s class sat at 18th nationally, according to 247Composite, before Dean’s commitment.

Stay tuned to Cyclone Fanatic for more on this story.
