Iowa State dropped one spot to No. 21 in this week’s AP Top 25, extending its streak to 59-straight weeks in the poll.

The Cyclones sit right behind Big 12 rivals West Virginia (No. 19) and Baylor (No. 20) then one spot ahead of Texas (No. 22) in the poll, which was released on Monday. Kansas (No. 5) is the highest ranked Big 12 team.

Kentucky is the nation’s new No. 1 team followed by Villanova, Indiana, North Carolina and the Jayhawks to round out the top five. Duke, Virginia, Arizona, Xavier and Louisville are the other five teams in the top 10.

Gonzaga, who the Cyclones potentially could meet later this week in the Advocare Invitational in Orlando, Fla., sit at No. 11. Iowa State will face Indiana State in the first game of the tournament on Thursday morning at 11:30.
