Iowa State earned its third commitment to the 2025 recruiting class on Friday as Will Tompkins announced his choice on social media.
The 6-foot-5, 275-pound prospect chose the Cyclones over Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri, Penn State, USC, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Duke, Minnesota, Illinois, and Northwestern.
Tompkins boasts the largest offer sheet of any commit to the 2025 class so far, and comes in as the No. 46 rated offensive tackle in the country as well as the No. 8 prospect in the state by 247 Sports.
The commitment from the Cedar Falls offensive lineman is the latest in a string of additions the position group has seen since the beginning of Ryan Clanton’s time in Ames leading the position group.
Iowa State added four offensive lineman as part of the 2024 class on Early Signing Day and also brought in Princeton transfer Jalen Travis, who will have just one year of eligibility, over the off-season.
Earning a commitment from Tompkins is another step in the process strengthening the offensive line room. The Cyclones are also actively trying to earn a commitment from Minnesota prospect Trey Boyd.
Tompkins joins Algona’s Alex Manske and defensive lineman Trey Verdon as the first additions to the 2025 class.
