The following is a press release from Iowa State Athletics Communications:

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women’s basketball program and head coach Bill Fennelly announced Wednesday the signing of Class of 2024 members Aili Tanke and Reagan Wilson. Tanke is an in-state recruit from Johnston while Wilson hails from Noblesville, Indiana.

“We are excited to add Aili and Reagan to the Iowa State family,” said Fennelly. “They are skilled perimeter players that come from very successful high school and AAU programs. Our fans will enjoy getting to know them on and off the floor.”

Aili Tanke · Guard · 5-11 · Johnston, Iowa (Johnston)

Tanke is a 5-11 four-star guard and the highest-ranked Iowa recruit at No. 98 in the ESPNw/HoopGurlz recruit rankings. As a junior for Johnston, she averaged 15.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a First Team All-State and All-Conference member and leading her team to a State Tournament runner-up finish. She has played in all three State Championship games in her high school career, claiming the title in 2022 as a sophomore. A legacy Cyclone, Tanke has had five family members attend Iowa State.

Fennelly on Tanke…

“Aili is a great 3-point shooter, and her versatile skill set fits our system perfectly. She is also a player and person who embraces a leadership role and understands how that impacts the game and her teammates. Aili is a proven winner and understands the work it takes.”

Reagan Wilson · Guard · 5-8 · Noblesville, Ind. (Noblesville)

Wilson, a 5-8 guard, is a two-time All-State and three-time All-Conference and All-County selection for Noblesville High School. On the hardcourt, she averaged 16.9 points, 4.0 assists and 3.4 steals per game as a junior while shooting nearly 37 percent from 3-point range. Also participating in track and field, Wilson helped her 4x400m relay team qualify for the 2021 State Championships. She is the third member of her immediate family to play Division I hoops, as her father, Dean, played two seasons at the University of Alabama while her brother, Evan, is a junior on the roster at the University of Akron.

Fennelly on WIilson…

“Reagan is a pure point guard who has all the qualities we look for in that position. She is very good with the ball in her hands and has a very high basketball IQ. Reagan is a true leader in every way and that shows in every team she has played on wins at a high level.”
