Iowa State hosted a number of targets for its 2025 recruiting class earlier this month during its game against Kansas.

One of those prospects, in Chase Loftin, is a highly touted three-star tight end prospect out of Omaha.

“It was really fun,” Loftin said. “It was a good experience for sure. I’ve been talking to a lot of the coaches and they’ve all been good. They’ve been keeping up with my season and giving me points where I can improve and be better. They’re always trying to get me to come down to more games and have more experiences (in Ames).”

Loftin is rated as the No. 19 tight end prospect in the class as well as the No. 2 prospect out of Nebraska.

His offer sheet includes Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Duke, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue and Michigan State along with the Cyclones.

However, he’s keeping things as open as he can at the current moment.

“All of my eyes are open, for sure,” Loftin said. “I want to see what options are out there and hear from the coaches.”

Tight ends coach Taylor Mouser will play a big role in Loftin’s recruitment, and with two tight ends committed to the 2024 class, it would only bolster the room.

“I love Mouser,” Loftin said. “He’s one of my favorite coaches I’ve been talking to and has been helping me out a ton.”

Loftin mentioned Iowa State’s coaching staff as something that stuck out to him.

“It’s definitely the great coaching staff,” Loftin said. “They’ve got great fans and I feel welcome there. It’s a great environment and a great community.”

He also noted the growth that the program has seen under coach Matt Campbell.

“I think he’s been doing a great job. I really love them. I spent a little time talking to him and I think he’s a really great guy and a great coach. I think he’s done a lot for the program and will keep building it up.”
