Iowa State 2024 commit Keaton Roskop watched from the sidelines after being taken out of Linn-Mar’s week 2 game against Washington.

Roskop had suffered an injury, which he found out on Tuesday to be an ACL tear, sidelining him for the rest of the season.

“It was just a punt block, kind of in the back 20 yards of the field,” Roskop said. “I went in and saw (an opposing player) go to cut up field so (the kick) didn’t get blocked. When I went to plant, to make the tackle, my leg just buckled and I think my ankle kind of got caught underneath and bent my knee the wrong way.”

Roskop will consult with doctors over the coming days to determine his rehab process, and Iowa State’s staff is already aware and supportive of Roskop.

“Yeah, they all know about it now,” Roskop said. “They just gave their condolences. They knew that this wasn’t how I wanted my senior season to go. They let me know that they were there for me and let me know that they’re still going to be there for me in the future. They know I’ll get through this and come out on the stronger side of it.”

Roskop committed to play tight end for Iowa State over Texas A&M, Kansas State and Northern Illinois among others. He plans on continuing to support his Lions teammates from the sidelines.
