During a board meeting held on Thursday afternoon, Colorado University officially voted to make the move to the Big 12 Conference, beginning in the 2024 athletics season.

“Rick George and I are of the strong belief that a move to the Pac-12,” Chancellor Phil DeStefano said during a live-streamed meeting. “I’m sorry, the Big 12, will set up CU Boulder for long-term success and will provide stability in an era of unprecedented change.”

The move was voted on unanimously and sets in stone the first expansion piece for Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark since the four additions to the league set to begin this season, were made official.

This brings the Big 12 to 13 members for the 2024 season and beyond.
