Iowa State’s 2024 recruiting class is nearly complete – at least in the sense that the program has seen verbal commitments from over half of its class, should each player sign their NLI’s on Signing Day.

Although, there’s still targets to be had out there throughout the rest of the summer.

Emerson Mandell
IOL, Irondale (MN)
6-foot-5, 295 pounds
The biggest target for Iowa State in the rest of the 2024 recruiting class comes in interior offensive lineman Emerson Mandell. The four-star recruit has garnered interest from some of the top programs in the country, and took his June visits to Iowa State, Minnesota and Wisconsin. If Iowa State finds a way to add him to the class, it would make it a healthy class of five offensive lineman entering for coach Ryan Clanton in his first year on the trail.

Witt Edwards
WR, Wagner (OK)
6-foot-5, 200 pounds
Iowa State does not yet have a wide receiver commitment for the 2024 class and really likes what it sees in Witt Edwards. The Oklahoma prospect took visits to Vanderbilt and Houston and held offers to Kansas State, TCU, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Tennessee and Mississippi State among others. He’s a priority for the Cyclones.

E’Zaiah Shine
CB, Daytona Beach (FL)
6-foot-1, 180 pounds
The cornerback prospect is one Iowa State’s got its eye on and could really use. The 2024 class also does not yet have a cornerback and Shine is a big name out there, like the others mentioned in this piece. He’s visited Maryland over the weekend and was at UCF, Ole Miss and Iowa State during the month of June.

Ryan Jenkins
EDGE, Albany (GA)
6-foot-3, 220 pounds
Iowa State is keeping its eye on Jenkins, who’s visited Coastal Carolina, Boston College and USF along with Ames in the past month. The situation has to be right for Jenkins to end up as a Cyclone, but if it’s going to happen look for it down the road.

Sammie Hunter
CB, Chandler (AZ)
5-foot-11, 175 pounds
Sammie Hunter will be announcing his decision on Saturday, July 1 between Utah and Iowa State. Things can change, but it seems like Utah is the favorite to land Hunter.

Connor Ferguson
Connor Ferguson
Connor will be covering women’s basketball for Cyclone Fanatic during the 2018-19 season. He is currently a junior enrolled at Iowa State and is studying journalism at Iowa State’s Greenlee School of Journalism. Connor also covers a variety of sports around the state of Iowa, including Indoor football and motorsports for Last Word on Sports. He also appears on-air four times a week covering high school football for 1460 KXnO, college football for his own podcast, and professional sports for 88.5 KURE – Iowa State’s student radio station.
