Wade and Brent Helton each visited Iowa State’s campus during the official visit weekend over the recent days and came away with a lot.

The pair of twins, who want to play football and attend college together, have Iowa State at the top of their lists after being on campus.

“Probably No. 1,” Wade said of where the Cyclones slot in amongst their top choices. “We kind of agree on pretty much everything. We want to go (to college) together. We just talk about every school and we’re always on the same page.”

Despite being their own people, Wade and Brent agree on a lot of things, in general. That hasn’t stopped as they dive deeper and deeper into their recruitment processes as well.

“We kind of see everything the same way,” Helton said. “It’s easy, honestly.”

The pair were two of the slew of 2024 prospects that were in Ames over the weekend – some committed, and others not.

Iowa State has already seen two commitments out of the weekend in running back Dylan Lee and quarterback Deyon Batiste.

“It was great,” Helton said. “We had a great time and really got to know Coach Campbell and Coach Clanton better. They just talked about their culture and how much they liked us, of course… and then what we’d play at and the kind of offense they want to run.”

The brothers will visit SMU on Thursday as the final official visit they’re taking for the summer and a commitment could be around the corner after that.

As far as all things are considered, Iowa State is in a great spot going into the week.
