Ashley Jones has made the Dallas Wings’ opening night roster.

One of the best players to ever wear an Iowa State uniform, Joens was selected with the No. 19 overall pick in the WNBA Draft earlier this year, but that didn’t guarantee her a spot on the club’s active roster.

Now, that spot is secured ahead of Dallas’ season opener against the Atlanta Dream on Saturday. The game will be broadcast live on ABC at noon.

Joens, a three-time All-American and three-time Cheryl Miller Award winner, averaged 20-plus points in each of her last three seasons with the Cyclones, finishing as the program’s all-time leading scorer and ranking among the top in most every other major statistical category in program history.
