For just the sixth time this season, Iowa State Tennis conceded the doubles point to its opponent in No. 3 NC State, and it was just enough to close the book on a Cinderella story.
After getting wins from Ange Oby Kajuru, Anna Supapitch Kuerum, Sofia Cabezas, the Cyclones climbed to a 3-2 lead, but surrendered the ensuing pair of matches that gave NC State the 4-3 victory.
The Cyclones end the season with a 21-6 record as well as a 7-2 mark in conference play in the regular season. Both marks are the program’s best ever.
Iowa State’s run to the Elite 8, as well as the Sweet 16 before, both also serve as program bests.
