Garrigan’s Audi Crooks (55) drive to the hoop during the Class 1A Iowa girls state basketball championship between Newell-Fonda and Bishop Garrigan, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Iowa State signee Audi Crooks broke an Iowa State high school basketball record Saturday night, scoring 49 points in Algona Bishop Garrigan’s 68-57 Class 1A state championship victory.

No player has ever that many points in the tournament, and it earned Crooks the Captain spot on the all-tournament team:

Crooks will join Iowa State for her first year in the collegiate ranks in the 2023-24 season this fall.

Iowa State’s coaching staff was present to see Crooks and her team score another state championship, as well.
