Former Iowa State linebacker Colby Reeder is headed to Houston as part of the next step in his football career.

The Delaware transfer that played his final collegiate season in Ames was selected by the Houston Gamblers in the 2023 USFL Draft on Tuesday.

Reeder finished his season in Ames with 38 tackles in eight games played. He corralled two interceptions and a fumble recovery, including the interception he made in the Cy-Hawk Series matchup in Iowa City.

Houston opens its season on April 16 facing the Michigan Panthers in Memphis, Tennessee.
