Iowa State veteran post player Beatriz Jordao is medically retiring from basketball.
Jordao was battling a leg injury over the past two seasons and has made the decision after not fully recovering:
Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly issued a statement along with the announcement:
“Bea has made the difficult decision to end her basketball career. She and our medical staff did all they could to get her back on the court, but it was obvious in the interest of Bea’s long-term health that she does not attempt to play anymore. Bea has been a huge part of the Cyclone Women’s Basketball family, and that will not change, as she has always been a team-first person.”
