Iowa State goes into the first week of the high school football season with 19 commitments to the 2023 football recruiting class.

We charted all 19 here, 16 of which will open their seasons this Friday in Week 1 of the 2022 high school football season. We’ll give you more on the match-ups with commits from the state of Iowa due to ease of access to statistics, and this is just an editorial reminder that every state in America needs access to a system like Iowa’s Varsity Bound.

Each kickoff is listed in local time and will be played Friday, August 26 unless otherwise noted.

Iowa High Schoolers

QB J.J. Kohl & DB Jamison Patton, Ankeny High School

Ankeny @ Waukee (7:00 p.m.)

This Ankeny High School team will be the biggest high school team for Cyclone fans to watch this year. J.J. Kohl and Jamison Patton highlight the talented roster that earned a trip to the state championship game in 2021. Patton transfers from Des Moines Roosevelt and will add a lot to a stacked roster.
