A number of former Iowa State Cyclones took the field over the weekend, appearing in NFL preseason action for their respective teams. Here’s how they all did:

*** Jake Hummel was at the top of the tackle charts for the Los Angeles Rams in a loss to the Houston Texans. Hummel managed seven stops on the day.

*** Landen Akers corralled two punts for just four return yards but brought in a 21-yard reception at a different point in the game.

*** In Minnesota, Brock Purdy’s San Francisco 49ers visited U.S. Bank Stadium and came away with a win.

Purdy finished the game with a team-high 128 yards on 14 completions. The Arizona native was making people miss throughout the game:

*** In the same game, Kene Nwangwu caught a pair of receptions for eight yards and finished with four rushing yards on eight carries.

*** Willie Harvey Jr. nearly joined Hummel in former Cyclones climbing up their team’s tackle charts this week, as he stepped away with five tackles through the game in his Cleveland team’s loss to Philadelphia.

*** Michael Jacobson earned one reception on eight yards with Indianapolis in a loss to Detroit.

*** Enyi Uwazurike wrapped up for two tackles in the Broncos game against Buffalo.

*** Chase Allen finished with one catch for four yards for the Chicago Bears while Mike Rose brought in one tackle in the Chiefs’ win over Washington.

*** The second week of preseason action concludes Monday night, where Breece Hall will take the field for the New York Jets (vs. ATL, 7:00 p.m. ESPN) on national television.
