Iowa State announced Wednesday that its women’s basketball program will be playing a neutral site game against Villanova in December.

The Cyclones will be a part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase – a two-game doubleheader with Iowa State and Villanova facing off along with Florida State and UConn.

“Iowa State is honored to be a part of this season’s Hall of Fame Showcase,” Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly said in a press release. “This is one of the premier Women’s Basketball dates on the calendar.  We know we are facing an outstanding team in Villanova, and this should be a great experience for our program.”

Villanova finished second in the Big East Conference standings last season, going 24-9 and being downed in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to Michigan.

The game will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. and becomes the fifth date to be ‘sharpied in’ to the team’s 2022-23 schedule.
