Iowa State has its first wideout piece of the 2023 recruiting class puzzle.

The Cyclones earned a commitment from Michael Parkes, a 6-foot-1 wide receiver out of Palm Bay, Florida.

He announced his decision over social media Thursday.

Parkes isn’t rated by 247Sports, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a talented player at his spot.

Six of his scholarship offers came from power conference schools. Parkes picked Iowa State over Big 12 foe West Virginia, along with Indiana, Utah, Pittsburgh and Mississippi State.

Parkes joins quarterback J.J. Kohl and tight end Carson Rhodes as the class’ commitments on the offensive side of the football.
