AMES, Iowa – The Big 12 Conference announced television broadcast assignments for Iowa State’s football non-conference games, as well as a date change for the Iowa State-Oklahoma game.
The Cyclones’ season-opener against Southeast Missouri (Sept. 3) and the Sept. 17 game against Ohio at MidAmerican Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium will be on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. Both games will kick off at 1 p.m.
The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series game at Iowa (Sept. 10) will start at 3 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
The Iowa State-Oklahoma game originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27 at Jack Trice Stadium is now slated for Saturday, Oct. 29.
Iowa State is looking to make its sixth-straight bowl game appearance in 2022, which will be Matt Campbell’s seventh season leading the program.
ISU returns six starters on offense, including All-Big 12 offensive lineman Trevor Downing and wide receiver Xavier Hutchinson.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Cyclones bring back eight starters including defensive end Will McDonald, a two-time All-Big 12 first-teamer and FWAA first-team All-American in 2021. McDonald has 29.0 career sacks, which ranks fourth all-time in Big 12 history.
Linebacker O’Rien Vance returns for his extra season with 32 starts in his career and Anthony Johnson Jr. is also utilizing his “Super Senior” season as he makes the move to safety after being a four-year starter and three-time All-Big 12 performer at corner.
