Two of Iowa State’s priority targets for the 2023 recruiting class played some off-season football this weekend in Kansas City.

Three-star quarterback prospect J.J. Kohl and three-star ATH Jamison Patton each took the field for the Iowa Flex 7-on-7 team at the event. They came back with some highlights.

Kohl, the quarterback at Ankeny High School, holds offers to 21 schools including Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State and Kansas among others.

He’s one of three uncommitted quarterbacks with an offer to play at Iowa State.

Patton, on the other hand, played at Des Moines Roosevelt through his junior year of high school. He recently announced that he would be transferring to Ankeny to play out his senior season at the school.

He holds offers out of Kansas State, Iowa, UCLA, Washington, and Northern Iowa among others.

Iowa State hopes to land each of the prospects as part of the 2023 class, which currently stands at three commitments.
