Iowa State has hosted a number of players on visits during the past week as spring football wrapped up for the program last Friday night with an open practice in Gilbert.

One of those players is a three-star wideout from Nebraska in Beni Ngoyi. He visited Iowa State and has since received an offer from Nebraska and visited Penn State as well.

With his last offer, Ngoyi is up to 10 FBS schools on his sheet including Kansas State, Kansas, Washington, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, as well as Northern Iowa among others.

“Iowa State has been doing a good job staying in contact,” Ngoyi said. “Just going off of my visit, they’ve really risen up. They’ve proved a lot for me.”

Ngoyi has accrued six FBS offers over the past month and a half.

The three-star prospect brought his older brother, as well as his cousin on the visit to Ames.

“It was a fun process,” Ngoyi said. “They just (us) out and took the time to spend with us. They really enjoyed being able to see different places and things. They let (my nephew) try on some gear. He went crazy about that.”

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound player utilizes his speed more than anything else.

“My speed is my priority. I can use that in a lot of different ways,” Ngoyi said. “I can attack vertically or drop my hips at an instant. I (utilize) that a lot.”

Ngoyi, a 2023 prospect, will play his senior season of high school ball in the fall for Lincoln High School in Nebraska.

He’ll continue to watch film over the off-season, but said that he pays attention to a pair of Cyclones and how they play their games.

“Definitely Allen Lazard and Xavier Hutchinson,” Ngoyi said. “I (paid attention) to how they blocked from the position and how they run routes.”

With more schools noticing Ngoyi and the latest string of offers he’s had, the receiver is planning on doing his thinking over the summer and committing ahead of his senior season.

“I want to see some schools during the spring and summer,” Ngoyi said. “I’ll then probably make my decision around the end of summer.”
