Iowa State landed its second commitment of the 2023 recruiting class on Monday night, according to a report from Ryan Wright of Rivals.com.

Jason Hammond Jr., a 6-foot-3, 285-pound defensive tackle out of Florida, is the latest to commit to the class.

Rated as a three-star prospect, Hammond Jr. held offers from Ole Miss, West Virginia, Wake Forest and Coastal Carolina among 12 others.

He joins Nevada (IA) tight end Carson Rhodes as the initial members of the 2023 class and commits after visiting Iowa State over the weekend.
