Iowa State defensive back Datrone Young entered the transfer portal Friday morning ahead of his redshirt-senior season.

The defensive back played in 11 of the team’s 13 games during the 2021 season and saw seven starts on the year.

In those games, Young earned an interception and totaled 31 tackles for the Cyclone defense including a pair of tackles for loss in the team’s win over Texas.

Overall, Young appeared in 53 games in an Iowa State uniform and finished his career with 87 tackles.

Young suited up at Right Corner for the Cheeze-It Bowl ahead of to-be junior TJ Tampa and redshirt senior Tayvonn Kyle.
