Even though most prospects sign their national letters of intent during the early signing period in December, Iowa State commit R Mason Thomas is one of the few that has waited until February.

The four-star edge rusher in the 2022 class will choose between Oklahoma, Miami and Iowa State on Wednesday during a ceremony at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Florida.

Thomas has been committed to Iowa State since the fall months, however, he has accrued a plethora of offers from high-major schools since then and his decision is as good as a toss-up.

According to 247Sports’ Andrew Ivins, Iowa State’s staff visited Thomas in Florida last week.

For the program’s incoming class, Thomas would bring a big boost.

As a 6-foot-2, 215-pounder, Thomas showed he could disrupt a backfield in collecting a team-high 12 sacks on his state championship squad.

Thomas will announce his final choice on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
