Matt Campbell spoke at his Early Signing Day press conference on Wednesday night about the ‘winners’ in the 2022 recruiting class at Iowa State.

Justly enough, Campbell saw two more potential future Cyclones earn state championships on Thursday night in Florida.

Edge rusher and Iowa State commit R Mason Thomas and defensive line target Ahmad Moten helped Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale take home its second straight 4A state championship.

Moten posted a picture on Twitter celebrating with the trophy:

Moten, a three-star recruit, talked to Cyclone Fanatic about his Iowa State offer and visit last week.

Thomas, on the other hand, has verbally committed to Iowa State but won’t sign with a school until February’s signing day.

The Florida native, rated as a four-star player by 247 Sports, spoke to a reporter following the championship victory:

Iowa State hopes the pair signs in February.
