Iowa State announced on Monday that each of its first two football games for the 2021 season will be starting at 3:30 p.m. CT this fall.

The team will open the season with a matchup against Northern Iowa that will be shown live on ESPN+.

A week later, Iowa State will face Iowa in the annual Cy-Hawk game, slated for a 3:30 p.m. CT national broadcast on ABC.

The game could potentially see a matchup between the two teams when both are ranked in the top 15 in the Associated Press Top 25.

Iowa opens the season against Indiana at home while the Cyclones take on UNI. If each team starts 1-0, then there is no reason to think September 11 could see one of the best games on the Saturday slate.

Iowa State Athletics did not reveal the reason for the time changes for either game.
