The Iowa State wrestling program has picked up Buffalo transfer Sam Schuyler and Campbell transfer Austin Kraisser, according to a report from the Des Moines Register‘s Cody Goodwin.

Schuyler, who wrestles heavyweight, will enter Ames having finished fifth at the 2021 Mid-American Conference meet, as an NCAA qualifier and with a 33-23 career record.

He also will come in with two years of eligibility left.

This will be huge for the Cyclones as they lost their starting heavyweight, Big 12 champion, Gannon Gremmel who waived his extra year of eligibility.

Kraisser will enter Ames with one season of eligibility remaining and will be projected at 165 or 174 pounds.

He comes in with a 67-38 career record and three top-three finishes at the Southern Conference Championships.
