Good news on the kicking front for the future of the Cyclone Football program. Iowa State received a commitment from a graduate transfer on Monday evening.
Andrew Mevis, previously of Fordham (FCS, Patriot League) made his pledge to the Cyclones on Twitter.
Mevis, previously was a First Team All-Patriot League kicker in 2019. He also served as the team’s punter. Mevis went 15-for-20 on field goals and 31 for 33 on PATs. His career-long field goal is 46 yards.
Mevis did not have the opportunity to kick in 2020 as the FCS portion of college football did not play due to COVID-19.
It’s been a good week of kicker recruiting on trail as last week, Iowa State added a preferred walk-on and kickoff specials Tyler Bittman to the 2021 class just last week.
