Former Iowa State men’s basketball player Cameron Lard is getting an opportunity to play professional basketball in the United States.
The NBA’s G-League held its draft on Saturday afternoon where Lard was selected 11th overall by the College Park Skyhawks, an affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks.
Lard announced he was leaving Iowa State after the 2018-19 season, which was a somewhat disappointing one for him individually. After averaging 12.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in 2017-18, Lard only played 12.5 minutes per game last season.
