WBB: Cyclones add former Wake Forest Transfer Lindsey Jarosinski

The Iowa State women’s basketball team announced Monday afternoon they would be adding freshman post Lindsey Jarosinski next season.

Jarosinski played one season in Winston-Salem before transferring, meaning she will have to sit out for the 2019-2020 season before beginning her final three years of eligibility.

“We could not be more excited to add Lindsey to the Iowa State family,” Iowa State coach Bill Fennelly said in a release. “Lindsey was rated as a top-50 player out of high school and was pursued by many schools when she decided to transfer.”

Jarosinski was rated 44th nationally by Blue Star Basketball coming out of high school and also saw offers from DePaul, Northwestern, and Ohio State at that time.

After announcing she would transfer from the ACC school, Jarosinski saw interest from Iowa, Marquette, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, San Diego, and DePaul again.

“The first time I stepped foot on campus I knew that it was a perfect fit for me,” Jarosinski said in the release. “The atmosphere and team chemistry felt like home. Iowa State is exactly what I was looking for. I can’t wait to be a Cyclone for the next four years.”

The 6’5″ guard corralled 15 blocks and 8 steals in 246 minutes of action for the Demon Deacons last year.

“She fits the Iowa State Way and what we need on our team both on and off the court,” Fennelly said. “Lindsey adds much needed depth to our inside game. This redshirt year will be great for her in every way. I know our fans are going to enjoy watching her for three years in a Cyclone uniform.”
