Iowa State has landed a commitment from junior college linebacker Caleb Johnson. The three-star prospect announced his decision on Twitter Saturday afternoon.
Johnson is rated as the No. 2 junior college outside linebacker in the country and No. 53 JUCO player in the 2019 class. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound prospect chose Iowa State over offers from Arkansas, Marshall and Florida Atlantic.
Johnson fills a major need in the Cyclones’ 2019 class as they’ll lose Willie Harvey and Reggan Northrup to graduation following the 2018 season. He is commitment No. 18 in Iowa State’s 2019 class and moves the Cyclones’ class into the top-25 nationally at No. 24 and the third-best class in the Big 12.
