This is the first year college football programs are allowed to host prospects on campus for official visits during the summer months and the Cyclones are taking advantage of that rule change this weekend.
Iowa State is hosting seven players for official visits in Ames this weekend and here is who Cyclone Fanatic has confirmed will be in town.
Glass, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound three-star prospect, is considered the No. 92 athlete in the class and No. 102 player in the state of California, according to 247Composite. Along with Iowa State, his offer list includes Washington State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Hawaii, Nevada and a handful of other FBS programs.
Matthews, who is rated as the No. 49 tight end in the class, comes to Ames currently holding offers from a handful of other Power 5 programs, including Arizona State, TCU, Kansas and Utah. The 6-foot-3, 242-pound three-star has reportedly garnered interest from Ole Miss, Texas, Missouri and Texas Tech as well.
Despite not having a 247Composite rating, Hufford is a player who has seen his stock rise in the past several weeks. Since the beginning of May, he has added offers from Missouri, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Virginia and Purdue. Iowa State was the 6-foot-5, 300-pound prospect’s first Power 5 offer.
Price makes the trip to Ames immediately after concluding an official visit to Illinois. The 6-foot-8, 315-pound three-star rated as the No. 90 offensive tackle in the class also holds offers from Minnesota, Purdue, Duke, West Virginia and a few other FBS programs.
Rohme is a product of the same high school that produced Iowa State freshman quarterback Brock Purdy. The 6-foot-6, 263-pound three-star is considered the No. 20 player in Arizona and No. 100 offensive tackle in the class. His other offers include Arizona State, Arizona, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State, UCF, Syracuse and a few other FBS programs.
The only JUCO prospect on this list, Johnson currently holds offers from the Cyclones and Florida Atlantic. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Fullerton College product is considered a three-star prospect by 247.
Baker, a 6-foot, 175-pound three-star, comes to Ames with perhaps the most impressive offer list of the bunch. The No. 88 cornerback in the class currently holds offers from Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Virginia, Duke and a host of other FBS programs.
