Brian Peavy and David Montgomery have both been named to Athlon’s 2018 preseason All-American teams. Peavy is listed as a third-team selection at cornerback while Montgomery is a fourth-team running back.

Peavy solidified himself as one of the best cover corners in the Big 12 during his redshirt junior season in 2017. The Houston, Texas native finished third on the team with 88 tackles and was the team leader with 11 passes defended while on his way to earning first-team All-Big 12 honors from ESPN.

He is the only Big 12 cornerback on Athlon’s All-American teams.

Montgomery enters his junior year as one of the best running backs in college football after rushing for 1,146 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. He was a first-team All-American by Pro Football Focus and a consensus first-team All-Big 12 honoree.

The Cincinnati, Ohio native is joined by Oklahoma State’s Justice Hill (third-team all-purpose) and Oklahoma’s Rodney Anderson (fourth-team running back) as Big 12 tailbacks on Athlon’s All-American teams.
