Road trips to Kinnick Stadium are never easy and according to Las Vegas, 2018’s installment of the Cy-Hawk football game will be a challenging one for the Cyclones.

Despite the fact that this is as highly anticipated of a football season in over a decade at Iowa State, the Cyclones have been tabbed as early 7-point underdogs to the rival Hawkeyes for game that will take place on Sept. 8.

For what it’s worth, that is a few points higher than I thought it would be.

Kickoff time for this year’s Cy-Hawk game has not yet been announced.

Iowa went 8-5 in 2017 following a Pinstripe Bowl victory over Boston College.

Last season’s Cy-Hawk game was a heartbreaker for Matt Campbell’s ascending Iowa State program. The Cyclones led 38-31 with 4:36 to play in the fourth quarter but ultimately lost by a 44-41 final in overtime.
