Recruiting Roundup: May 18, 2018

BASKETBALL LATEST:

*** Wichita State transfer guard Austin Reaves chose Oklahoma over finalists of ISU, UNI, and Purdue.  Reaves was being recruited as a replacement for if Lindell Wigginton does not return for his sophomore season.  ISU is currently full on scholarships for next season if Wigginton returns.

*** Iowa State offered power forward Drew Timme (Richardson, Texas) on Thursday.  Rated as the No. 19 PF in the class and 106 overall, Timme holds 18 P6 offers, with Big 12 offers from Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech.  More info from Jared here.

FOOTBALL LATEST:

*** The Cyclones made the top 7 for cornerback Alex Hogan (Houston, Texas) on Sunday.  Hogan received an offer February 8th.  His other schools include Utah, Texas Tech, Memphis, Illinois, Indiana and Colorado.

*** Running back Jirehl Brock (Quincy, Ill.) released a top 5 via Twitter that included the Cyclones on Tuesday.  The other schools that made the cut were Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and Purdue.  He eliminated Illinois and Indiana, who were part of his top 7 released on April 20th.  Brock has scheduled official visits to three of those five: Northwestern this weekend, Minnesota 6/8, and Iowa 6/22.  He has stated he hopes to make his decision before his senior year.

*** Safety Jalen Graham (Detroit, Mich.) is a new high interest target for the Cyclones according to his profile.  He had mentioned ISU and Kentucky in a previous interview as leaders in his decision, and they are joined by Minnesota and Purdue in his top 4.  According to Allen Trieu of 247 Sports, Graham will be on a bus tour this weekend with stops to Iowa State and Minnesota.

*** Graham’s teammate from Cass Technical in Detroit, linebacker Devin Nicholson (Detroit, Mich.), will also visit according to Trieu.  Iowa State offered him earlier this month.

*** ISU is thought to be leading for linebacker Michael Jansey Jr. (Batavia, Ill.), who will be taking some visits and plans to decide in the next few weeks.  Jansey has been to Ames twice since his January offer, most recently on April 2nd.  The main competition appears to be West Virginia and Missouri out of 15 D1 offers.
