AMES, Iowa – Incoming Iowa State men’s basketball player Talen Horton-Tucker has been selected as one of 32 athletes overall to attend training camp for the 2018 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team, which will take place May 31-June 2 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“This is a great opportunity for Talen, his family and our program,” Iowa State head coach Steve Prohm said. “He’ll have the opportunity to perform against great competition while representing our country, which is a terrific honor.”

Finalists for the team are expected to be announced June 2, and the team will continue training June 3-8 in Colorado Springs until departing for the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, which will be held June 10-16 in St. Catharines, Canada, and the top four finishing teams will qualify for the 2019 U19 World Cup for Men.

The USA will be coached by Bill Self (Kansas) with Anthony Grant (Dayton) and Danny Manning (Wake Forest) assisting.

This will be Horton-Tucker’s first time participating in a USA Basketball camp.
