The top-ranked player in the state of South Dakota has committed to Iowa State. Blake Peterson, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end tweeted out the news on Saturday morning.
Peterson chose Iowa State over offers from Minnesota, Wyoming, South Dakota and South Dakota State. He has also received interest from Kansas State, Michigan State, Wyoming, Stanford and Wisconsin.
Peterson is the sixth known Iowa State commitment in the 2019 class. According to 247 sports, Iowa State’s class is currently ranked 15th nationally.
