KANSAS CITY — After winning three of the last four Big 12 Tournaments, Iowa State’s most recent trip to Kansas City came to an early end on Wednesday night. In a 68-64 loss to 7th seeded Texas, this one will be remembered as a game that 10th seeded Iowa State probably should have won.

The Cyclones committed 17 turnovers in the loss while going 4-for-9 from the free throw line. Numbers like that are tough for a last place team to overcome.

Freshman point guard Lindell Wigginton led the Cyclones with 20 points and eight rebounds. He also committed nine turnovers running the show for Iowa State. Cameron Lard and Zoran Talley chipped in with 14 and 12 points respectively.

Iowa State’s season ends with a record of 13-18 while going 4-15 in Big 12 play.
